“Littlest Pet Shop” premiere Party

The new "Littlest Pet Shop " will premiere Saturday, November 10th at 11am ET on the Hub TV Network.  The other day Mom Select and the hub gave us the opportunity to Host a Littlest Pets Shop Premiere Party.

Here is a little bit about the show:
Its a half-hour animated comedy series that follows young Blythe and her father as they move into a big city apartment above the Littlest Pet Shop- an amazing day camp for pets of all kinds including a panda, gecko, and even a mongoose. But the real adventure begins when Blythe discovers she can miraculously talk with the animals! the pets may be small, but their big personalities often lead to uproarious pop music-inspired son and dance sequences. The Show has a rating of TV-Y

We started the party by making some fun snacks like Sunil's Magically Disappearing Trail Mix of course the kids made it disappear quickly. We played some super fun games but the kids were anxious to watch the show. So we put together the mask that were in the party pack and the kids sat down to watch. I have not seen kids sit this still and this quiet in a very long time. I can honestly say they enjoyed every minute of the show. They are all looking to watching the Littlest Pet Shop on the Hub on Saturday mornings.

 I received a couple products for this review the first is the 5 1/2 in comet nail file. We got the one with the green Swarovski Crystals on it. It sells for $15.95. They come in other colors and designs, I think they are all beautiful and the quality is amazing.  Its a great file for you manicure box its larger size works well on both fingernails and toenails. The Swarovski crystals are beautiful and have held up well. I usually have a hard time finding a nail file I love. I have very brittle nails that chip easily and I often find my self frustrated with regular nail files. I was excited to try out the GlassFuzion file and wanted to put it to the test. Me and the girls had a manicure pedicure night and we did everyone fingers and toes. It worked so well I was surprised at how smooth my nails turned out after I filed them no chipping or splitting. My mom even loved it and she has hard nails that most files leave rough and unfinished looking. Her nails came out so beautifully that she ordered one for her self and my sisters for Christmas. Cleaning it its so simple and easy, just rinse it under warm water you can even add a little soap if you wish. It comes clean and looks just as new as it did before you filed your nails with it. I love that it wont wear out. I go through regular nail files very quickly. Its amazing to me that I wont have to keep wasting money to buy new files every month. The files are worth the little bit extra that you pay. I would love to have one of the 3 1/2 in files to carry in my purse. I am always needing a file for the girls.

The Spa Bar foot file. AMAZING !!!! the  Spa Bar measures: 6.25"x 1.25"  x 0.25" and sells for  $22.95 and worth every penny. It comes in lots of colors so i am sure you can find your perfect one. I received the green one its a very nice color of green. (I would love a blue one). I have really tested this out with summer ending I have some crazy rough feet.  I admit it my feet take a lot of abuse. They are rough from walking around barefoot and they are calloused from my steel toed work boots. I decided it was time to make my feet soft and smooth again. The Spa bar foot file did the job better than anything I have ever tried before. I have tried the sand paper foot files. The scary cheese grader file that was out on tv a few years a go. Nothing has worked quite like the Spa Bar. Its got two sides one is slightly rougher than the other so you start with it. It will get rid of all the really rough stuff if you feet are really really bad you might have to rinse it off. Then you flip it over to the not so rough side and you finish it off this side smooths out anything that's still left and gives your feet a nice silky smooth feel.  You simply rinse your feet off after that an apply your favorite foot cream. I used Glass fussion's foot cream because they sent me a little sample tub and I am a sucker for trying foot creams.  It smells so good and re-hydrated my tired feet. We all know how tired a moms feet can get and a good foot cream is a wonderful experience at the end of a long day.

I also received a Hard Case File Protector they are a hard plastic case that comes in two sizes one fits the 3 1/2 in nail file sells for $3.25 and the other size fits the 5 1/2 in file and sells for $3.75. I got the green one to match the file they sent me. Its a very nice color and fits the file well. I love that I have something to protect my crystal glass nail file if I want to stick it in my purse or makeup bag when I travel. Because this file is defiantly going with me when I leave home I love it so much I wont use anything else now.

Munchkin Math

We got a great opportunity to work with Munchkin Math this month. It happened to be great timing and worked in with what we have been working on for math this month.

HotRod Princess wanted to show 12:00  

I thought I would start with the Telling Time DVD since my girls are currently watching it for the 5th time today. This is a cute little interactive video that helps your child learn hot to tell time. Wendy Miller the creator of munchkin math teaches rhymes chants and hand movements to help kids learn to tell time. There is also a cute little animated bird named Cuckoo that my girls love. The DVD runs about 29 minutes and my girls have no trouble watching it for that long. They love love love this video and its sticking with them today Snoopy came in singing one of the rhymes from the video 12 is up and 6 is down and here we go around and around !They are both understand what the big hand does and the small hand. The HotRod princess can now tell time on the hour and is improving on telling time on the half hour.  I am so excited that they are both starting to be able to tell time how ever that makes it harder to trick them into going to bed 30 min early.

 Next up is the Counting money DVD. Counting money has been a hard concept for the Hot Rod Princess. This great little video comes with a FREE money worm mat printable that you can print from there site and use along with the video. In this video they learn the value of each coin, as well as essential math concepts. Using great rhymes, chants and hand movements. The auditory, visual and kinesthetic cues help children learn faster and retain information. The girls really enjoy this video too. The Hot Rod Princess gets more out of it than snoopy does at the moment but she still loves singing along and I believe she is absorbing some of the information. The Hot Rod Princess is starting to be able to identify coins and is doing much better with remembering how much some of the coins are worth. Its a great add on to any math curriculum and its fun to watch I keep getting the rhymes stuck in my head. I caught my self at the store check out counter the other day chanting one. This video is 22 min long and a very cleaver way to teach counting money.

The Shapes DVD is just adorable I love the characters Zoid and Pent as they take the girls through the world of shapes. Kids will have fun learning about shapes and math concepts that will forever be part of there lives. Its a catchy video that the girls really do love watching over and over.  The Hot Rod Princess can now identify a trapezoid thanks to the character Zoid that keeps getting trapped by one she thinks its the funnest thing every time he gets trapped. Snoopy's favorite part is the octagon because she likes singing an octagon has 8 8 sides and making the wiggly octopus legs with her arms. They are both recognizing and pointing out shapes in our daily lives. The Hot Rod Princess informed me when we were driving the other day that a stop sign is an octagon and has 8 sides. The shapes DVD  is about 20 min long and like the other two videos they love watching it over and over again.

All three of theses videos are a great investment and worth the price.  We have really enjoyed adding them to our curriculum and they are watched almost daily they girls actually request them and often argue over which one they will get to watch that day. You know its good when your kids beg to watch it.

The kids loved this little guitar its super easy to use touch the on button and it starts playing strum the guitar faster and the song play faster. Its got some cute songs on it that the kids already knew so they could sing along. They had a blast taking turns with it and seeing who could sing the song the fastest. It runs on 3AAA batteries they are included and so far we haven't had to change them. I love that its got volume control on the back Lo and HI. Hi is not as loud as I expected which is a good thing when the girls insist on playing it while I am trying to write this review.  It does not have raised strings the face of the guitar is completely smooth. No groves for gunk to get stuck in. Its simple enough that even the smaller kids enjoyed it. we did take off the strap for the little ones to be sure they did not get it tangled around there neck or other body part. It is very light weight so its perfect for little ones to rock out with.

The Smaller Kids loved this one. The music is great its got a lot of my favorite songs on it. Like the touch Magic Rock n' Learn guitar the face is completely smooth so no places for gunk to get trapped. It has both a High and Lo volume on it. Runs on 3AAA batteries and they are holding out quite well we haven't had to change them yet. The little ones seemed to like making there own music with the piano keys and  hearing the animal sounds. The Touch Magic Learning Bus is also very light weight so its easy to carry around the house.

All the Kids had a great time at the touch Magic Rock n' Learn Party Jamming to some tunes and Playing all the fun games they sent us. Great Job LeapFrog! Thanks for another fun product.

I gave the Hot Rod Princess a quick demonstration of how the tag system worked. She picked it up very quick and was excited to start exploring. I had to pry her away from it to get her to come eat dinner. Its always great to see your kids get excited to learn something new. I was amazed at how much information she has picked up from the Tag Human Body Discovery Pack. She really loved the skeletal system, she has walked around for two days no feeling the bones in our hands, feet, arms and legs even naming a few. She surprised her POP when she informed him that the bones in his fingers were called phalanges and that muscles made her hand open and close. She has spent a lot of time with it each morning and is now asking for more Tag books. Snoopy gets a kick out of hearing it talk and loves to sit next to the Hot Rod Princess while she is working. She loves the wash your hands song its quite catchy and we have begun singing and danging to it when we wash our hands. The tooth brushing song is the Hot Rod Princesses favorite song she likes to play it while she is brushing her teeth at night. I have to admit its a fun song.

The Tag Human body Discovery Pack is helping me to teach the girls about the Human body and good nutrition. I have to admit I love interactive learning products and so do the girls. The two sided interactive chart is cool. You can touch everything on it to learn something new. We had a great time exploring the human body and I even re learned a few things I had forgotten.  We set up the interactive growth chart and the girls took turns marking there height on it. Since they both celebrated there birthdays this week we got try out the Birthday stickers. The stickers are interactive so when you touch the birthday sticker the Tag reader say's This marks your height on your birthday and cheers the girls got a kick out of it. The Hot Rod Princess now wants to loose her first tooth just so she can put the interactive tooth sticker on the growth chart. The Human Body Discovery Pack comes with some other interactive stickers that the girls have really enjoyed. We love that it talks to you so its great for a little independent learning time.  I like the games because they help to reinforce what they have learned. But the girls like them because they are fun. Me and The Hot Rod Princess have a lot of fun with the Making healthy choices game. We even make games of our own using the Interactive stickers to see who can get the most bones and muscles right.

As a new home schooling mom I am loving this Book it covers some of the basics that my kindergartner needs to know. Letter sounds, vowels, and it even covers some sight words, consonant blending. For math it touches base on  patterns, skip counting, and basic addition and subtraction. It even has a calender and the months. It also explains the different seasons. I love the little interactive community were my daughter can touch on different places and people and learn about what they do there. Its got a page on dinosaurs I love the sounds they make and the information it tells about them. There is a Feelings Funhouse where children can explore different emotions. I also love how crystal clear the tag reader is. The voices are amazingly clear and the enunciation on each word is great my girls have no trouble understanding what it says. 

I gave the Hotrod Princess the Tag Get Ready for Kindergarten book and the tag reader and gave her a quick demo on the first page of how to work it. She understood how it works right from the start. She wanted everyone to know that she thinks it is "wicked cool" which says a lot coming from the girl who is easily board now days.  She loved that it helps her sound out the hard words that she does not know. I love that it has a lot of the sight words that she already knows. So she can read most of the book on her own with out needing the tag reader to sound it out for her. The great sound effects and voices of her favorite characters make her smile and keep her attention. I love seeing there smiles as they learn something new.  The HotRod Princess gave Snoopy some instructions on how to work it because "that's what big sisters do mom" Snoopy loves that she can touch the tag reader to the purple book and it will read the page to her. A blessing when I am working with the HotRod Princess on another activity. They both love the games that you can do on each page and I feel that they help reinforce the key concepts that each page is teaching. tag Get Ready For Kindergarten is a great book and I cant wait to expand out Tag Library.

Iv had the Ultimate Sand Bag for about a month now i wanted to really test it out. I cant believe how much I have been using it. Its very versatile you can do just about any exercise with it that you would do with a set of free weights. The sand gives it a bit more of a challenge as it moves and shifts around. The ultimate sand bag has handles at different positions on the bag so you can grip it easily for different exercises. I love that is gives me an alternative to my standard work out so I can change things up a bit. I have defiantly noticed added muscle tone in areas that I was having trouble with since I started using the Ultimate Sand Bag. I am burning more calories in a shorter amount of time, for a mom that's a major bonus. I think the training DVD offers a good variety of work outs. They also offer additional free work outs on there site which I have found very helpful when I want to change up my work out. I think my favorite exercise is the clean and press it has given my shoulders and back amazing definition.  I also love doing squats and walking lunges with the Ultimate sand bag. I found it to be great for circuit  training, I don't have to swap equipment and I can transition from one exercise to the next.  I love that changing the weight of my sand bag is so easy I can add some sand or take some out depending on what I plan on doing for the day. It is a very tough bag, Great quality stitching and reinforcement at the stress points. Its sure to hold up for a long time to come. I think the possibilities with the Ultimate Sand Bad are endless. If you looking for great At home fitness equipment give a Ultimate Sand Bag a try. Its very affordable and small enough to stuff behind my couch. I would love to try out the new Water/sand bag filler so I think using water in my Ultimate Sand bag would another great way to enhance my work outs.

This past weekend we held a Gutzy Gear Party at our house. We called up friends and family and ask them to come over. With a bunch of kids piled around the table we played some Gutzy games had some snacks, and got the kids excited about going back to school. I started out by giving each one of the kids a Gutzy strap cover. I opened up all the Qutzy patches and put them in a big bowl in the middle of the table and we let the kids take turns picking out a Patch to put on there Gutzy strap. We had a few arguments over who got watch patch but once they found out they could take them off and on and trade them around they were excited. The kids ended up trading patches several time by the time they went home. They all left excited about heading back to school in a few weeks to show off there new Gutzy Gear. I even loved them and made some for my camera bag and now I want the Shady and beach bum Gutzy.

Month 6 with the TRIA

Well this is supposed to be the end of my TRIA Hair Removal Laser Review. I have fallen in love with the TRIA. My legs are not completely hair free yet but they are dang close. I think I have may be 20 hairs left on each leg and that could just be because I misses spots when I was treating my legs with the TRIA. It does take some time to use because the head is so small and it doesn't work well on light hair. But the company said that it only worked on dark colored hair so I didn't really expect it to do much for the light hair. The little bit of hair that is remaining is much much finer and and grows very very slow. I no longer have trouble with ingrown hairs and only have to touch up a few spots on my leg about once a month or so when the hair finally grows back. I do wish the battery lasted a bit longer so that I could do both legs in one setting on a higher setting. Over all the results were satisfactory and I am very happy with the TRIA Hair Removal Laser its a product I would buy and I believe its well worth its money.

ABCmouse.com

This is week two of using ABCmouse.com for my 2 and 4 year old. Set up was quick and easy took me all of may be 15 minutes to get it set up and another 10 to get both users set up for the girls. I did some clicking around on the site I love that they can either follow the learning path or I can select what I would like them to do.
Snoopy loves it she is flying through the learning path. Since she is just getting a handle on her ABC's I started her off in the Preschool learning path level 1. She has completed 32% of the level one learning path. I think she loves the songs and the bubble game the best. I am looking forward to seeing her progress with it over the next couple months.

The HotRod Princess is on level  6 and has completed 53% of it in 2 weeks. I started her out on level 5 but got bored with it too quick It just wasn't challenging enough for her.  So I bumped her up to level 6 which is the last level available on abcmouse.com. She is a quick learner and tends to get board if she is not challenged enough. We are on lesson 39 as of today and we are starting to get into some new curriculum that she is unfamiliar with. She seems to enjoy most of the activities that they are offering her and is starting to get challenged. She does however get frustrated with the coloring pages. Its too simple for her and she clams its for baby's. She did get a math color page yesterday that required her to add two single digit numbers to figure out what color went where in the picture. She liked this coloring page much better than she did the basic ones where it doesn't require you to do anything other than just click the color you want and put it where you want.

We did have a minor technical issue with ABCmouse.com we had an activity on the lesson lock up and it would not show that the Hotrod Princess had completed the activity. I used the ABCmouse.com on line live help and they had issue solved in about 5 minutes. It was great customer service and I am thrilled that I did not have to call or email them and wait for a reply. So far we are liking ABCmouse.com and my girls have began to sing ABCmouse.com every time the site loads.

I had never even seen a Gel Pillow before the Sof-Pillow landed on my door step. The first thing I want to talk about is super soft ultra plush pillow case that stays cool on your skin. It really does stay cooler than the average pillow case and it feels so soft on my skin. The Sof-Pillow its a curved pillow that has a very high quality polyurethane foam core and the Wonder gel surrounds it. The gel feel amazing. The Wonder Gel is flexible and molds to your body when you put pressure on it. I tried it out as a regular pillow the first night but found it to be a bit to small and the curve is a bit too much for me to sleep on all night. So the next night I used it as sleep position-er for my leg as my lower back was hurting.  It worked great for a sleep position-er and was very comfortable. I decided to try it out as a lumbar support while I write my reviews. I am actually using the Sof-Pillow right now and I am in love, it gives my lower back the perfect amount of support. We are taking our time with both DVDs and talking about as much of it as we can. Some thing my girls just don't understand because of there age. The hotrod princess understands more of it than snoopy does. So we get in a little more discussion in. They love seeing all the pictures and ask lots of questions. I really like that I can expose them to bible study so early on even if they are not understanding all of it they are still picking up little things and that is important to me.


The illustrations in these DVDs are amazing. They are vibrant and colorful just what kids love right. I also love that the illustrations are done by artist in a variety of ages, ranging from 10 years old to 70 years old. They come from all over the USA and work very hard to bring us these wonderful DVD's. The artist spend a lot of time studying the Bible to be sure they get the illustrations accurate. The Show and Tell Bible DVD's have become a favorite part of our weekly Bible study. I love the activity books they offer a great review for the DvD lessons and make a wonderful bible study building block. 


Show and Tell Bible also offers printable coloring books for $2.00 and they have between 45 and 50 pages and they have 5 different coloring books available. They are prefect for the younger kids not yet ready for the activity books.
